Cooking Tequeños and Pastelitos

We sell our tequeños and pastelitos frozen. You should keep them in the freezer until you are ready to enjoy them. To fry them, follow the steps below:

  1. Choose a frying pan or pot big enough to comfortable submerge the tequeños or pastelitos and fill it with enough oil to cover all the units comfortably.

  2. Heat the oil to 180c (close to high temperature in most domestic kitchens) before putting the tequeños/pastelitos in. Remember, the oil should cover the individual units. Tip: Do not fry too many at the same time. They cook best when they have space around them. Also, adding too many at once makes the oil temperature drop quickly and this negatively affect the quality of the cooking process.

  3. Fry them for about 5 min or until they get a golden colour.

  4. When they are ready, take them out of the oil with a utensil and place them on a plate and napkin and leave them to rest for 1 minute. Enjoy!
